Domestic Bike Tours
Biking here at home…
is a good way to see if a bike tour is for you, or to tuck in a tour without the time involved in going abroad. With a span of five or six days, these trips are shorter than most of the international tours.
Interesting venues…
include IBT’s classic Cape Cod/Nantucket tour, a staple throughout much of the history of the company. The Cape and Nantucket draw visitors who come to enjoy their scenic beauty and their proximity to water and both are accomplished in providing for visitors, giving ample reason to come and come again. IBT tours are scheduled slightly off-season when the throngs have gone but the pleasures remain.
Among the advantages of domestic tours…
the possibility of driving rather than flying to your destination.
What’s different…
the guide will meet you at the first hotel rather than the airport and there’s no sag wagon; other arrangements are made for transporting luggage. (So you know: “other arrangements” does not mean the bikers do it.)
What’s the same…
the usual IBT standards prevail with local guides, small hotels, interesting venues (we provide the entrance fees) and the opportunity to learn about the area. The guide is in the lead, a “sweep” is appointed each day to bring up the rear, and IBT’s unique Corner System insures that no one gets lost. Dinner and breakfast are included each day with lunch on your own, sometimes picnic style, and most days a morning coffee stop and afternoon ice cream stop provide pleasurable breaks. Also, there’s the IBT t-shirt, enhanced with the name of the tour and the IBT logo.
IBT’s hallmarks are safety and maximum value…
with the best prices in the business. Participants of all ages and expertise have taken part since its founding in 1976, some of them again and again. In addition to tours planned that any cyclist can enjoy, we offer advanced itineraries to challenge experienced riders and are pleased to individualize special trips for groups of families and friends.
